As 75% of visitors to Tanzania are American, the food is very much catered to Western tastes. Most food is served buffet style – barbecued and roasted meats, steamed vegetables, potatoes, rice, fresh fruits, desserts and the like. Many people like to sample local foods in the countries they visit and this can certainly be arranged.

You’ll find all of your lodging spotlessly clean. Permanent tents zip front and back, sitting on concrete platforms, with a patio in front and complete bathroom facilities in the back, surrounded by a privacy wall. Mobile camps are similar in nature but sit directly on the ground, not on platforms.

Lodging ranges from extraordinary luxury to budget facilities. Most are built to fit or blend with the landscape. All have in-room bath facilities. Many have swimming pools with incredible views, beautiful restaurants, interesting gift shops, bars and nightly entertainment.

Some lodges are large with as many as 150 rooms while others are small, intimate and privately owned. All of the services and food at these locations is equally outstanding.
