Highlights of Tanzania
OPTION 1:
Day 1 –
Arrive Tanzania off KQ from Nairobi at 8:50 am. Meet and greet
at Mt. Kilimanjaro International Airport and depart for Lake
Manyara National Park with picnic lunch. Afternoon game drive
followed by check-in at your lodge in time to freshen up before
dinner.
Overnight Kirurumu Permanent Tented Camp
Days 2/3/4 –
Depart for Serengeti National park with picnic lunch to enjoy
along the way. Along the way you have the option to stop at
Ol’duvai Gorge for a visit to the Leakey museum and archeological
site. For this and the next two days, you’ll have morning
and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park
Overnights Ndutu Safari Lodge or Lobo Wildlife Lodge (dependent
on time of year)
Days 5/6 –
Today you depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater.
Besides a game drive on the Crater floor, you may also enjoy
a guided hike along the crater rim.
Overnights Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Ngorongoro Farm
House
Day 7 –
After a leisurely breakfast return to Arusha, and time for lunch
and last minute shopping before your departing flight (dependent
on time of departure).
OPTION 2:
Day 1 –
Arrive Mt. Kilimanjaro International airport (JRO) this evening.
Meet and greet and transfer to your lodge for overnight.

Day 2 -
Depart for Lake Manyara National Park with picnic lunch. Afternoon
game drive followed by check-in at your lodge in time to freshen
up before dinner.

Day 3/4/5 –
Depart for Serengeti National park with picnic lunch to enjoy
along the way. Along the way you have the option to stop at
Ol’duvai Gorge for a visit to the Leakey museum and archeological

and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park
Overnights Ndutu Safari Lodge or Lobo Wildlife Lodge

Day 6 –
Today you depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater.

a guided hike along the crater rim.

Day 7 –
Dependent on flight departure time, you may have time for another
game drive on your return to Arusha at Lake Manyara or Tarangire
National Parks. Transfer to the airport for departing flight.

If your time in Tanzania is limited, or you want to add an
extension to one of the islands, there are shorter camping safaris
that might interest you. These programs use the standard-sized
12’ x 20’ tents with en suite facilities.
DRY SEASON:
Day 1 –
Arrive Arusha (via Nairobi or Mt. Kilmanjaro International)
and transfer to Moivaro Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.
Meet and greet safari briefing upon arrival at lodge or the
following morning prior to departing for Tarangire National
Park.
Day 2/3 –
After breakfast, depart for the private tented camp situated
along the boundary of Tarangire National Park. Game drives in
the Tarangire National Park, tribal visits and walking in the
area neighboring Tarangire is offered to those wanting a cultural
experience. During the dry season, animals concentrate along
the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water
supply in the area. During the dry season as many as 6,000 elephants
inhabit Tarangire.

Day 4 –
Today you depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater.
Game Drive on the Crater floor, you may also enjoy a guided
hike in the area. Dinner and overnight will be at the Bougainvillea
Lodge or similar while the camp moves to the Serengeti.

Day 5/6/7 –
After breakfast, we depart to Serengeti National Park, stopping
along to way to visit Olduvai Gorge. This is where the Leakey’s
discovered the remains of Homo Erectus, bringing crucial understanding
to the study of the evolution of man. Serengeti is perhaps the
most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, and with good reason.
During the migration, literally hundreds of thousands of wildebeest
and zebra can be seen making their way across this magical plain.
In February-March they concentrate at the Ndutu and Salei plains,
where the calving season takes place, attracting the attention
of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena. We will be
in a private campsite – location based on time of year.

Day 8 -
Today we’ll drive to the Seronera Airstrip for a flight
to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, those departing from Nairobi
will be transferred back for their flights, having a lunch stop
along the way. Those departing from Kilimanjaro will have lunch,
and a day use room where they’ll be able to take a shower
and prepare for their transfer to JRO for their return flight.

GREEN SEASONS: November, May, and June
Day 1 –
Arrive Arusha (via Nairobi or Mt. Kilmanjaro International)
and transfer to Moivaro Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.
Meet and greet safari briefing upon arrival at lodge or the
following morning prior to departing for Lake Manyara National
Park.
Day 2/3 –
After breakfast we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
If lucky, we may see the Manyara lions, know for their tree
climbing habits. Elephants, hippos, giraffe, buffalo and other
plains animals are present at Manyara. You’ll also see
the famous jungle where early Tarzan movies were filmed. Birdlife
in Manyara is also impressive. We will be camping in the Ngorongoro
Conservation area. Besides a game drive on the Crater floor,
you may also enjoy a guided hike along the Crater rim. This
“eighth wonder of the world” contains one of the
most spectacular game haunts in Africa. Permanent availability
of water and grass make game viewing excellent any time of the
year. Birdlife is prolific with flocks of flamingos on the soda
lake.

Day 4 –
After breakfast we depart for Seregeti National Park with picnic
lunch to enjoy along the way. You will have the option to stop
at Ol’duvai George fro a visit to the Leakey museum and
archeological site. You will have Dinner and overnight at the
Ndutu Safari Lodge or similar.
Day 5/6/7 –
The next three days you will have morning and afternoon game
drives in the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is the most
famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, where the great migration
begins and ends. This is also the perfect opportunity to take
the dawn hot air balloon ride over the plains, followed by a
full English-style breakfast served on fine china in the bush.
You will be returning to your camp in the evenings for dinner.
Day 8
Today we’ll drive to the Seronera Airstrip for a flight
to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, those departing from Nairobi

along the way. Those departing from Kilimanjaro will have lunch,
