Mbalageti Serengeti

Mbalageti is a new and stunning permanent camp in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park.

Accommodation is in 24 luxury-tented chalets built on the slopes of the gently rising Mwamweni hill. Mbalageti Camps chalets are constructed from a combination of local rock, wood, and a canvas and thatch roof. Each has full en-suite bathroom and a private veranda from which you can enjoy the panoramic views of the Serengeti plains and the Mbalageti River - after which the camp is named.

Mbalageti Camp also has two 'Suite' chalets, which comprise two bedrooms, a lounge veranda and en-suite bathroom, as well as having a romantic outdoor bath overlooking the Serengeti plains.

A highlight is the swimming pool, which is made out of local rocks and is situated on the edge of the hill offering a 360-degree view of the wilderness and a great way to cool off after dusty day on safari amongst the Serengeti wildlife.

At the apex of the hill, Mbalageti Camps main building has a relaxing lounge area with various board games, magazines and wildlife books, and there is a sociable open bar area at which you can swap tales of the days leopard sightings, lion hunts and exciting elephant encounters.

A stay at Mbalageti is ideal for safaris occurring from May to July as the wildebeest migration moves through that area during those months. The panoramic views from Mbalageti offer unparalleled sunrise and sunset photo opportunities as well as chances to spot wildlife while relaxing at the lodge.

Highlights of Mbalageti include the stone swimming pool, trinity spa, sunset and sunrise bush dinners and outdoor private baths. Because the lodge itself is spread over several acres, the tents are far apart from one another, offering a private safari experience to those who seek it.
